Terms of service

Plain-English terms for using Styler. We've kept them as clear as we can — but they're still a legal agreement, so please read carefully.

1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Styler. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms," "Agreement") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Styler ("we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Styler mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Styler. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

If you are between 13 and 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

2.2 Capacity to Agree

You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement and comply with its terms.

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account by providing:

  • A valid email address
  • Authentication through email verification, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In
  • Any additional information requested during registration

3.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach

3.3 Account Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update such information to maintain its accuracy.

3.4 Account Termination Rights

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • You provide false or misleading information
  • Your account is used for fraudulent or illegal activities
  • We discontinue the Service

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

4. Description of Service

Styler is an AI-powered wardrobe management application that provides:

4.1 Core Features

  • Digital wardrobe organization (Tops, Bottoms, One-Piece, Outerwear, Shoes, Activewear, Accessories, Jewelry, Intimates)
  • AI-based clothing item analysis and categorization
  • Automated outfit generation and recommendations
  • Weather-based styling suggestions (when location is granted)
  • Outfit history, favorites, and generation history
  • Outfit Planner with weekly/monthly views, mark-as-worn, and scheduled push notification reminders
  • Insights dashboard (wardrobe overview, wear rate, diversity score, color and formality breakdowns)
  • Style Profile (style vibes, age range, body type, dressing goals)
  • Camera and photo gallery integration for wardrobe digitization
  • Outfit and weekly-plan sharing via your device's share sheet

4.2 AI-Powered Features

Important Disclosure: Our Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to:

  • Analyze photos of clothing items
  • Identify attributes (color, type, pattern, season, formality)
  • Generate outfit combinations
  • Provide personalized recommendations

AI Limitations:

  • AI suggestions are recommendations, not guarantees
  • Results may vary in accuracy
  • AI decisions do not replace human judgment
  • You retain full control over your wardrobe and styling choices

4.3 Service Availability

We strive to provide continuous service availability, but we do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Availability at all times (maintenance, updates, or technical issues may cause temporary unavailability)
  • Compatibility with all devices or operating systems

5. User Content and Ownership

5.1 Your Content

"User Content" means any photos, images, data, or information you upload, capture, or submit to the Service, including:

  • Photos of clothing items
  • Wardrobe metadata
  • Preferences and special requests
  • Generated outfit combinations

5.2 Ownership of User Content

You retain all ownership rights to your User Content. We do not claim ownership of the photos or data you upload.

5.3 License Grant to Us

By uploading User Content, you grant Styler a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Store, process, and display your User Content
  • Use AI and machine learning to analyze your clothing items
  • Generate outfit recommendations based on your wardrobe
  • Provide the core functionality of the Service

Important Limitations:

  • This license exists solely to operate the Service for you
  • We will NOT use your photos to train AI models for other users
  • We will NOT share your User Content publicly without your permission
  • We will NOT sell or license your photos to third parties
  • This license terminates when you delete your content or account

5.4 User Content Responsibilities

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to all User Content you upload
  • Your User Content does not violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Your User Content does not contain illegal, harmful, or offensive material

5.5 AI-Generated Content

Outfit combinations and recommendations generated by our AI based on your wardrobe remain your property. You may use them freely, but we retain the right to improve our AI algorithms based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including all software, algorithms, design, text, graphics, logos, and AI models, is owned by Styler and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works of our Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software or AI models
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices
  • Use our trademarks without written permission

6.2 Limited License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Download and install the app on your personal device
  • Use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • Access features available to your account type

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

7.1 Illegal or Harmful Activities

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Upload harmful, offensive, or illegal content
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users

7.2 Service Integrity

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
  • Circumvent security measures or authentication systems

7.3 Misuse of AI Features

  • Attempt to reverse engineer our AI models
  • Use the Service to train competing AI systems
  • Upload content you don't have rights to
  • Submit malicious or corrupted files

7.4 Commercial Misuse

  • Resell or commercialize the Service without authorization
  • Use the Service for competitive purposes
  • Extract data for commercial use

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and legal action.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

Key Privacy Points:

  • We do not sell your personal information
  • We use encryption to protect your data
  • You have rights to access, modify, and delete your data
  • We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and applicable privacy laws

9. Fees, Payment, and Rewards

9.1 Subscription Plans

Styler offers three subscription tiers: Free, Plus, and Luxe. Plus and Luxe are each available as weekly, monthly, and annual subscriptions. Current pricing, features, and billing periods are displayed in the app on the paywall screen.

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store via our subscription management provider (RevenueCat) and auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal charges are processed by the platform and are subject to the platform's refund policy. To manage or cancel your subscription, use your App Store or Google Play account settings.

9.2 In-App Currency (Threads)

Threads are Styler's in-app virtual currency used to unlock features such as extra outfit generations, retries, and try-premium-feature previews. Threads can be:

  • Earned, through sign-up bonuses, milestones, and referrals; or
  • Purchased as one-off consumable in-app purchases in packs of 20, 60, or 150 Threads, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Threads:

  • Have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash or other currency, and are non-transferable between accounts.
  • Are consumed immediately when spent and are not refundable except where required by applicable law or the platform's refund policy.
  • May expire if your account is inactive for an extended period or is terminated for a Terms violation.

We reserve the right to adjust Thread earn rates, pack contents, and spending costs at any time with reasonable notice.

9.3 Referral Program

Styler offers a referral program that rewards users for inviting friends:

  • Eligibility: Any registered user may create a referral code (random or a custom code up to 8 characters).
  • Referrer rewards: When a new user joins using your code, you receive complimentary Threads. The number of Threads awarded varies based on your subscription tier and the number of previous referrals, as displayed in the app. Free-tier users may also receive a limited period of complimentary Plus access on their first successful referral.
  • Referee rewards: New users who sign up with a valid referral code receive complimentary Threads on registration.
  • Restrictions: Self-referrals are prohibited. Each new user may only be referred once. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program, adjust reward amounts, or revoke rewards obtained through fraud or abuse, at any time and without prior notice.
  • No guarantee: Referral rewards and free-trial periods are provided on a discretionary basis and do not constitute a contractual obligation. The amounts and trial durations shown in the app at the time of redemption control.

9.4 Changes to Pricing and Rewards

We reserve the right to modify our pricing structure, subscription features, Thread economy, and referral rewards with reasonable notice to existing users.

10. Third-Party Services

10.1 Third-Party Integrations

Our Service may integrate with third-party services:

  • Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: Authentication services
  • Appwrite: Backend infrastructure (account data, file storage, serverless functions)
  • RevenueCat: Subscription entitlements and consumable in-app purchase management
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging: Push notification delivery (including planner reminders)
  • Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring: Usage analytics (consent-gated), crash reporting, and performance traces
  • AI and machine-learning providers: Image analysis and outfit generation
  • Weather Services: For location-based recommendations

10.2 Third-Party Terms

Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party practices or content.

10.3 External Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for any third-party content.

11. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

11.1 Service "AS IS"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF AI RECOMMENDATIONS

11.2 AI Disclaimer

AI recommendations are suggestions only. We do not guarantee:

  • Accuracy of clothing analysis
  • Suitability of outfit recommendations
  • Fashion appropriateness for specific occasions
  • Weather prediction accuracy

You are solely responsible for your wardrobe and styling decisions.

11.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STYLER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
  • LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL
  • SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS OR DATA LOSS
  • THIRD-PARTY ACTIONS OR CONTENT

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR $100 IF NO FEES WERE PAID).

11.4 Jurisdictional Variations

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages. In such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Styler, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your User Content
  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

  • Deleting your account through app settings
  • Contacting our support team

Upon termination:

  • Your access to the Service will cease
  • Your User Content will be deleted within 90 days
  • These Terms will no longer govern your use

13.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice, if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • We are required by law
  • We discontinue the Service
  • Your account remains inactive for an extended period

13.3 Survival

Certain provisions survive termination, including:

  • Intellectual property rights
  • Disclaimers and limitations of liability
  • Indemnification obligations
  • Dispute resolution provisions

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14.2 Informal Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at [email protected] to attempt informal resolution of any dispute. We will make reasonable efforts to respond within 30 days.

14.3 Jurisdiction and Venue

Any legal action relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the competent courts of Amman, Jordan, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

14.4 Class Action Waiver

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity and not as a class action or representative proceeding.

15. Changes to Terms

15.1 Modification Rights

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes may be made to:

  • Reflect legal or regulatory requirements
  • Improve clarity or accuracy
  • Introduce new features or services

15.2 Notice of Changes

We will notify you of material changes via:

  • In-app notification
  • Email to your registered address
  • Updated "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms

15.3 Acceptance of Changes

Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must discontinue use and delete your account.

16. General Provisions

16.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Styler regarding the Service.

16.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

16.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

16.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

16.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, pandemics, wars, strikes, etc.).

16.6 No Agency

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Styler.

16.7 Electronic Communications

You consent to receive communications from us electronically, and you agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement for written communications.

17. Apple App Store Additional Terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

  • These Terms are between you and Styler, not Apple
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app
  • Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms regarding your use of the app
  • Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you

18. Google Play Store Additional Terms

If you downloaded the app from Google Play Store:

  • These Terms are between you and Styler, not Google
  • Google is not responsible for the app or its content
  • Your use is also subject to Google Play's Terms of Service

19. Export Control

You agree not to export or re-export the app in violation of applicable export control laws and regulations.

21. Acknowledgment

BY USING STYLER, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
